Admission Policy

To ensure your safety and security for maximum fun-flinging, frivolity, while abiding by our local liquor laws:
 

  1. NO COOLERS OR OUTSIDE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ALLOWED to be brought on or through our licensed premises!  There will be plenty of water on the beach, along with beverages and coolers through our beach wagons (beer and malt beverages throughout our beach festivities available from the Flora-Bama).
     

  2. Cover Charge

    There are options...Carpool, Take a Taxi or Ride the Shuttle.  There will be a $10.00 charge for parking to be shared with local charities.

WHAT IS A MULLET?

A mullet is one of the more popular and plentiful fish indigenous to this area.
It is the only fish with a gizzard and is said to possess mystical properties.

 
WHAT IS A MULLET TOSS?

A Mullet Toss consists of individuals on the beach throwing a mullet,
from a 10-foot circle in Alabama across the state line into Florida. 
Not to mention a great excuse to throw a weekend long party,
with lots of fun activities, great music and food!
This year's event will feature local celebrities tossing out a few fish
at Noon, Saturday April 26th

 
WHY TOSS A MULLET?

A contribution for each fish flung will go to
Local Youth Charities.


Each year, with your help, we raise and contribute over
$20,000 to our local charities, especially youth organizations.

WHAT IS THE RECORD FOR TOSSING A MULLET?

The record is held by Josh Serotum, who in 2004 tossed the mullet 189'8" in his preliminary toss and 174' 3" in his final toss.

 
WHAT HAPPENS TO MULLET AFTER THE MULLET TOSS?

We feed them to the birds.

 
HOW MANY PEOPLE USUALLY COME TO THE MULLET TOSS?

Several Thousand

 
WHAT ARE THE RULES FOR TOSSING A MULLET?

Toss a mullet (approximately 1 lb.) across the Florida/ Alabama state line.

Must submit registration form at the beach.

$15.00 Entry Fee.  You will receive our Interstate Mullet Toss T-Shirt.

NO gloves or sand on mullet allowed.

Mullet will be picked out of the water bucket.
After you throw, retrieve your mullet and toss it back into the bucket.
THANK YOU!

Mullet will be thrown from a 10' circle down a designated alley.

No stepping out of circle during your throw and follow through or you will be disqualified.

Throwing your mullet out of bounds is an automatic disqualification.

DON'T MISS!  One chance only to qualify for finals.
